NOVA 106.9 now using AirShr

Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 is the first metro station to partner with AirShr, which they say: ”promises to revolutionise the radio medium.”

Nova’s trial of AirShr launched this morning, with the tech allowing listeners to save, share and engage in real time with anything they hear on Nova 106.9.

Nova 106.9 General Manager and Program Director Jay Walkerden said: “By giving listeners control over how they engage with our content, we believe AirShr will not only deepen the radio experience of our listeners but strengthen their attachment with their Nova community.”

Nova 106.9 has an exclusive trial of the new technology with the first phase of the partnership focused on simply encouraging listeners to download the free app and providing on-air incentive for listeners to hit the AirShr button.

Until April 8, they have launched “their easiest competition yet” where listeners will be encouraged to download the AirShr app for the chance to win $5,000 cash, $5,000 shopping spree and dinner every week for a whole year.

“Our content creators across the station have always remained focused on listener experience which is why AirShr could be the most exciting evolution in radio in years”, said Jay.

The next phase of the integration will be working with commercial partners to offer exclusive consumer offers, incentives and branded content.

Developed by an Australian independent software company, AirShr was launched at the National Radio Conference last year. Grant Broadcasters WAVE FM was the first regional market to launch and use the app.
