Nic Kelly & Gemma Maddox spruik their new Sunday show on ‘The Radio Randomly Podcast’

It’s a radio twofer on the latest episode of The Radio Randomly Podcast with host Gawndy chatting to Nic Kelly from Sea FM Central Coast and Gemma Maddox from Hit104.7 Canberra about their new joint venture.

The pair has just started their new Sunday evening show This Week Tonight which is simulcast across both stations.

Nic recounts his and Gemma’s serendipitous meeting over Twitter and how it only took them one demo to convince their bosses to green light the project (“That’s unheard of!”).

The duo go on to discuss how the mechanic’s of a collaborative show works when living three hours away from each other and having chemistry when they’re not in the same room.

Nic details the advice he received from Ash London concerning how to get the balance right in a new music-driven show.

“We didn’t just want to go on and be like ‘here’s a new song, here’s a new song’…what we decided to pivot towards the conversations the artists were having,” Nic said.
