Newstalk ZB changes in 2 markets

A couple of announcements have been made today regarding mornings on 2 Newstalk ZB stations.

Chris Lynch (left) will replace Mike Yardley on Newstalk ZB mornings in Christchurch.

Lynch is an award winning journalist and current affairs producer who started his career working at Newstalk ZB’s West Coast and Auckland newsrooms.

“Mike’s departure leaves big shoes to fill," says Lynch, "However I am thrilled to be given this opportunity and look forward to continuing the work Mike has done covering the significant issues facing Christchurch and representing our community.”

Radio Network Christchurch GM Andrew Britt says:

“We were determined to find a host Canterbury could be proud of while also promoting an emerging talent in talk radio."

Meanwhile Newstalk ZB in Wellington also have a new mornings announcer.

Tim Fookes (right) will replace Sean Plunket.

Fookes has had two stints as Chief Reporter for Newstalk ZB in Wellington.

He says: “Newstalk ZB is part of the fabric of the city and I'm excited about providing the people of the region with a forum to share their ideas, passions and outrages on a daily basis.”

Both shows start January 14.
