New MD at Nova Brisbane

Staff Writer

Nova Brisbane has made their interim Music Director, Georgina Ingham-Myers (left), the permanent Music Director.

With long-serving Music Director Kate Casey on maternity leave, Assistant Music Director Ingham-Myers has been filling the chair. Kate has now made the decision to return to work on a part-time basis, and will work on dmg's network music projects, and cover annual leave in Brisbane.

  Hi All,

I know I mentioned this in the staff meeting last week but wanted to put the note out formally. As you know Kate Casey is currently on maternity leave and while she has been away Georgina has done a brilliant  job at covering all things music and operations.

Kate recently informed us that she would only like to come back to work on a part time basis as she really wants to devote her time to her children while they are so young , so unfortunately she has decided to give up the day to day work with her other child NOVA 106.9. Kate will be assisting in some special network music projects and also be covering any music holidays in Brisbane.

Kate has done an amazing  job since Nova’s inception and although this isn’t a “Kate’s leaving us email “ I wanted to acknowledge her work and her passion with Nova.  Kate is well regarded as one of the best in the business and having won ACRAS in 2008 and 2009 for Best music Director in the country she has helped shape Nova 106.9 sound.

Georgina on the other hand has a brilliant ear and I know we won’t or haven’t missed a beat with Kate being on leave, we couldn’t be in a better spot with such a high calibre replacement for Kate.

In due course we will have a “ Kate’s not leaving “ drink but in the meantime please join me in congratulating Georgie on the new role and thanking Kate for the last 8 years.

Cheers

Jay
