New languages and digital stations added to SBS Radio mobile app

Staff Writer

SBS Radio has redesigned its mobile app to include 70 additional languages and four 24/7 digital radio stations.

SBS Arabic24, SBS PopAsia, SBS PopDesi and SBS Chill will now be available on the app, which also introduces a new interface, customisable playlists, a live radio menu and in-app podcast alerts.

Existing users of the SBS PopDesi and SBS Chill apps will be directed to download the new SBS Radio app. As a new feature, listeners of SBS PopDesi, SBS Chill and SBS PopAsia can now see a list of tracks played in the past seven days and purchase them for offline listening.

“SBS Radio recognises that our audiences expect a more on-demand content experience, on the device of their choice,” said Mandi Wicks, SBS director of audio and language content.

“With the new and improved functionality, the SBS Radio app caters to our listeners with a personalised experience tailored to their content and language preferences.”

The new SBS Radio app is available to download now at the iTunes App Store and Google Play
