Emma Freedman is expanding her role with SCA to be the new National Drive News Presenter on The Hit Network. Emma will cover news inside the Hamish and Andy show and still be part of The Scoopla Show with Jules Lund. The move has resulted in the axeing of the local drive newsreaders on the Hit network around the country.

Mark Taylor has been part of the ACE Radio family for close to 23 years and will now be their new CEO. Mark will take on the role Chief Executive Officer to replace Stephen Everett.

Geoff Field has left 2DayFM after the Today/Hit network axed their local drive newsreaders around the country. Geoff joined Austereo’s 2MMM in 1997 as News Editor for The Andrew Denton Show. Not long after, he jumped to 2Day reading news for Wendy Harmer. Geoff later became part of the Kyle & Jackie O Show in 2004 through to 2010. With K&J, Geoff made the decision to not hide his sexuality, and was proud to be known as the first openly gay newsreader on Australian radio.

Brian “Spoonman” Carlton will anchor a new local talk show across LAFM Launceston, 7BU Burnie, 7AD Devonport, 7SD Scottsdale and 7XS Queenstown. In the 90’s he had a cult like following when he was Spoonman on Triple M nationwide. For the last couple of years he has been the EP of 2UE Drive with Justin Smith. As well as On-air at both 2GB and 2UE .

Tim Collins and Tayla Golesworthy have been picked up by Radio 97 in Tweed Heads and will be heard from the Gold Coast to the Northern Rivers. They are recent graduates of Central Institute of Technology in Perth.

Huw Drury ABC Radio’s ‎NSW Regional Content Director has taken redundancy.

Steve Smith who been with SCA for over 28 years and the GM for NX and KO FM Newcastle has been made redundant.

SCA has announced a raft of changes for their Regional arm this afternoon. It sees five long standing execs taking on new leadership roles with the group. Ashley Myatt will take on a new senior management role managing the NSW region based out of Newcastle. Rod Winner will step into the VIC / SA role, Sam Fotu will take on WA, and Craig Davies will continue to manage the TAS, Darwin and 7 Central regions. Tim Davenport moves into the newly formed role of Regional General Manager for QLD.

Michael “Moffee” Moffett is joining Southern Cross Austereo as CD for 2CS and Star FM in Coffs Harbour.

Christian Dichiera and Kane Coelho have been picked up by ZOO – FM in Dubbo NSW as their new Breakfast show. They are recent graduates of Central Institute of Technology in Perth.
