Light FM put a listener on the payroll

Light FM Melbourne has just completed a compelling 3-week story arc, culminating in the official appointment of a listener as Breakfast co-host for the rest of 2014.

In a nutshell: Lucy Holmes Bailey, one half of the 'Lucy & Kel' Breakfast show has headed off to have a baby. Obviously, that leaves a significant hole in any Breakfast lineup.

Given that, the Light FM team decided to run an on-air audition process to find a fantastically talented listener to take her place for the remainder of the year.

After hundreds of entries, and 6 finalists who each hosted an entire Breakfast show with Kel McWilliam, the station was unable to separate the two strongest contenders; Gosia, and Emma.

So, in a great extension of the story arc, Light FM gave the two final listeners a second show this week to co-host, following which the decision was made, with Light FM listener Gosia winning the spot.

Gosia will be placed on the payroll and co-host the Light FM Breakfast show for the remainder of 2014 whilst Lucy enjoys her new baby.
