Kyle Sandilands in ‘Judge Judy’ spin-off

Former Assistant Editor

The rumours are true. Kyle Sandilands will star in his own new television show called Trial By Kyle.

The Judge Judy spin-off is coming to Network 10, with Kyle announcing the news on Jackie’s O News segment this morning on KIIS 106.5.

Kyle had previously flagged that MTV approached him about a reality television show, but failed to divulge any further details.

Now he’s confirmed the rumours. “I’m known as a judge. Now a couple of months ago Jackie you mentioned in O News that there were some rumours that I was going to be doing some Judge Judy style show at Channel Ten,” he said.

“The TV show, I’ve signed off on it,” he continued. “It’s sort of like a Judge Judy thing, but it’s called Trial By Kyle.”

Similar to the format of Judge Judy, which has amassed almost 6,000 episodes since 1996, Kyle will rule final judgement on various disputes between people, including celebrities.

“Celebrities going up against photographers, we’ve already got one of those locked in,” he said.

Kyle also revealed that his listeners may even get to feature on the show by calling in.

“Let’s throw it open to the listeners as well, if you’ve got an issue with someone, mother, brother, sister, neighbour, boss, whatever, and you think ‘hey, I’ve been badly done by. I should be compensated’.”

Kyle is experienced at judging on reality television having appeared on Australian Idol, Australia’s Got Talent and The X Factor.
