KLFM’s Peter Tangey has passed away

Victorian community station KLFM has lost one of its popular hosts, with Peter Tangey sadly passing away this week.

Tangey, who was 71, died on Wednesday after a short illness.

He started his broadcasting career in the 1990s at 3BO FM (now Triple M Bendigo).

KLFM shared a tribute to the broadcaster, who had been with the station since 2013;

“It is with extreme sadness that we advise Popular KLFM Announcer Peter Tangey has passed away this morning at the age of 71.

“He was a true gentleman and wonderful announcer.

“Peter will be sadly missed and all our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

The Facebook most has been met with an outpouring of grief, with tributes and heartfelt messages rolling in.
