The British inquest into the death of nurse, Jacintha Saldanha will begin in a matter of hours in the UK.

Keith Vaz ,UK Member of Parliament had said on behalf of the family:

“It has been a long road for the family and I deeply admire the patience, humility and dignity they have shown throughout this traumatic time”.

“It is right that they finally gain closure.”

Jacintha tragically took her own life, after taking the prank call made by the Today Network Hot 30 hosts in 2012, while Kate Middleton was in hospital for morning sickness.

“Jacintha’s family were delighted to hear the news … that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her second child and want to pass on their heartfelt congratulations to the couple”, said Keith Vaz.

As reported earlier, the Westminster Council advised that neither Mel Greig nor Michael Christian  will  be attending the inquest in person or via video link.

Southern Cross Austereo today also formally advised:

While we understand there will be media interest in the Inquest, Southern Cross Austereo does not expect to be in a position to make any comment on the proceedings.

An inquest is a limited, fact finding inquiry to determine the cause of death.

If appropriate and or relevant, the company may issue a statement when the Inquest has concluded.
