How beating Pete helped raise nearly 22k

Staff Writer

Pete Timbs from Triple M Brisbane ran in the Bridge to Brisbane on the weekend.

To help raise money for Crohn’s & Colitis Australia he held 'Triple M’s Beat Pete'. Every person that beat him over the finish line, Triple M and Suncorp would donate $10.

Pete ended up coming 2,195th, so $21,940 will be donated.

“We don’t get a lot of public profile, so I’d love to thank Suncorp and Triple M for giving me the opportunity to raise the awareness for CCA.

“I wasn’t the only one running for us, so thanks to all who ran and raised money for the cause.

“It was a great way to kick off Father’s Day, but at 41, this will be my last ever fun run… the body doesn’t recover as well as it used to.

“To all the people who are suffering with Crohn’s and Colitis, keep your chin up, it might be hard now, but things will get better and fingers crossed there will be a cure just around the corner”.
