Staff Writer

Hit92.9 content director Amanda Lee has beaten out 250 nominations to earn a finalist nod in the Mentor category of the 2018 B&T Women in Media Awards.

Lee has a wealth of experience in the radio industry starting out at Southern Cross Austereo in 2003 before moving to NOVA in 2005 then settling back into SCA in 2012 where she currently resides at Hit Network.

“I’m honoured to be recognised amongst so many accomplished and inspirational women in media, as well as the male champions of change,” Lee said

Within her time at Hit Network she farewelled a Breakfast show and launched Heidi, Xavier & Ryan while also taking a special interest in the development and mentorship of aspiring women in the industry.

“Sharing knowledge is power, and there is nothing more rewarding for me than to develop young people in the media, and see them grow professionally and personally, to go on and do extraordinary things in their careers,” Lee said.

Lee will go head to head with ARN national news director Deborah Clay and seven other finalists to take out the title.

The Women in Media Awards will take place in Sydney on 17th August, 2018; to see the full finalists list, head here.
