Heart continue to help

Staff Writer

Tassie radio stations are continuing to support their local community after the recent devastating bushfires in the region.

Tomorrow, Heart 107.3 will broadcast live from The Dunalley Pub for breakfast with Kim & Dave and then from the Dunalley General Store from 9am – 12pm with Brett ‘Marls’ Marley.

They aren't just supporting on-air, David Noonan and show producer Troy Barrett, have been helping rebuild fences with Dunalley locals.

Rod Maldon, Content Director of Heart 107.3 said:

"Kim and Dave have been focussed on ensuring that Tourism returns to the areas affected on the Tasman Peninsula. Business needs focus, towns need the tourism to return. They have spoken to the local mayors, local people, local business owners and have decided to put a massive focus on the long weekend being a time when Tasmanians should spend some time returning to the fire affected areas."

"We will also bring with us a team of hair dressers, manicurists and massage therapists who will provide the female population with some much needed love and care."

"We will also be giving Hobart locals vouchers to spend their weekend in Dunalley and surrounding affected areas."

"Our focus to ensure Tasmania knows that the open for business sign is up."

Heart 107.3 have also launched the 'Hobart Says Thankyou' campaign.

On Sunday Feb 3 the community will gather at City Hall in Hobart to say a massive thanks to the volunteers, firefighters, police and everyone who helped.

Rod says:

"We have also made a card which we will get the population of Hobart to Sign, we will then hand this to our special guests from the above services."

"Heart 107.3 will continue to help in every way possible to be there for Hobart and Tasmania at large. In time of need, we all put our hands up and help. We have more planned for these areas in the coming weeks, we look forward to helping them bring the heart back to Hobart and Tasmania."
