Ryan Rathbone reveals new promotions at Grant Broadcasters

Former Publisher

Grant Broadcasters has announced multiple changes to its content and operations teams.

The latest movements, announced Tuesday and effective immediately, cover the independent regional broadcaster’s Victorian and South Australian radio stations.

Mark Hyland, the current regional content director for Victoria, has assumed responsibility for all 15 radio stations across the two states, as well as maintaining his content leadership position at both K Rock 95.5 and Bay 93.9 in Geelong.

The network’s group content director, Ryan Rathbone, also confirmed that K Rock Breakfast host Tom Lewis has added assistant content director to his resume.

Glenn Bakker, content director at Magic 105.9, 5AU and 5CS in the Spencer Gulf, adds operations manager for all South Australia-based stations to his remit.

Rathbone also appointed Adam Connelly as content director for 5MU and Power FM in Murray Bridge, saying he will continue to host 5MU breakfast.

“As has been proven time and time again at Grant Broadcasters, we are very fortunate to be in a position where the best people for the roles are already in our business,” Rathbone said.

“The new structure will allow us to better share the knowledge and experience of our most senior content creators and certainly improve communication across the group.”

Grant Broadcasters appointed Rathbone to the role of group content director in May, responsible for all on-air talent and content teams across more than 50 stations owned by the broadcaster.

He returned to Australia to join the group in 2019, after spending five years working in New Zealand for The Edge Network and Mediaworks across content and talent.
