Good Friday Appeal gets support from Nova and smoothfm

Staff Writer

For a second consecutive year, Nova Entertainment has partnered with one of Melbourne’s most respected charity events, the Good Friday Appeal.

Two nova stations, Nova 100 and smoothfm 91.5, will advocate the initiative through on-air support and active involvement in key fundraising activities. They will also undertake a number of internal fundraising initiatives in the lead up to Good Friday to allow staff to show their support.

“We are delighted to partner again with the Good Friday Appeal,” said Peter Colosimo, Nova Entertainment’s Melbourne general manager.

“This appeal holds a special place in Melbournians’ hearts and we are looking forward to supporting the fundraising efforts of the Royal Children’s Hospital, one of Victoria’s most important institutions.”

Nova 100 will begin Good Friday with Ben Erbsland broadcasting live from the Royal Children’s Hospital from 7am to 9am. He will be chatting with key people involved in the appeal, as well as AFL players and Channel 7 personalities.

The station will also participate in the Kids Day Out from 10am to 5pm. Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will be transformed into a wonderland for kids, with over 40 different activities on the day.

smoothfm announcers will also be at the event running hourly news bulletins throughout the day, keeping listeners updated on the the total amount of donations made to the appeal. The station will also raffle off a family weekend getaway in the city to raise additional funds.
