Five key takeaways from Survey 6

Staff Writer

A calm book for some and a turbulent book for others, there’s something for everyone to take away from today’s Survey 6 results.

We’ve crunched all of the numbers, and here are some of the key points worth mentioning.

1. Some stations have taken some big hits

As we get ready to see whose contracts will be renewed and whose won’t, a number of stations around the country felt the impact of this book. Among them, 97.3 Brisbane, Triple M Melbourne. Nova 100 Melbourne and Hit 92.9 Perth were the hardest hit.

2. 2Day down to a low of 3.3 in breakfast

Following extensive TV and outdoor campaigns, Em and Harley have failed to cut through the very competitive landscape. But it’s certainly the network’s strongest offering since the departure of Kyle and Jackie O.

3. Ed, Marto and Robin Bailey move to Number 2 Breakfast in Brisbane

After finding their feet with the addition of Robin Bailey to the team, Triple M breakfast is now equal with 97.3 breakfast which suffered big drop.

4. Sam Thompson goes out on a high

Following the departure this week of GOLD 104.3 and KIIS 101.1 Content Director Sam Thompson this week (a story which Radio Today scooped), she finished on a high with both stations up by 0.2 and 0.1 respectively – an impressive result given the footy season.

5. Footy rescues a less than stellar book for Triple M Network

Fairly poor round for Triple M network, Brisbane only market that increased for people 10+.

This is how we saw it, but later today we’ll find out how the hype machine sees the results with The Spin.
