Dene Broadbelt returns

Staff Writer

With an extensive history of unpaid debts and failed business schemes across Australia, serial con-artist Dene Broadbelt has resurfaced in regional Victoria.

Since leaving his short-lived regional radio career Broadbelt has had his fingers in a number of pies, all of which appear to have ended badly.

Local Fairfax regional newspaper The Standard in Warrnambool has reported that Broadbelt is now attempting to open a local real estate office. The newspaper has said:

“A NOTORIOUS conman with alleged debts across Australia has turned up in south-west Victoria trying to set up a real estate agency and recruit staff.”

The paper also quotes a former journo with the paper who said he was contacted by Dene to take some photos for a proposed real estate business. The Standard also reports of a familiar alias being used, the name Harrison O’Connor, which Broadbelt has used on a number of occasions interstate.
