Confirmed : Devlin to Hauraki
On Saturday we told you that New Zealand's TRN was close to poaching high-profile RadioLive presenter Martin Devlin from Mediaworks – see here
Well it's true – Devlin will be Radio Hauraki's new host of the breakfast show.
The controversial host (pictured) says he wants to offer something new when the show launches.
"I’m really buzzing to have the job. It’s one of the best opportunities I’ve had in my broadcasting career. I get to mix my passion for sport, rock music and an opinion on everything in a new way. I’m not a shock jock and don’t set out to be deliberately controversial but I want Hauraki listeners to be entertained.”
Radio Hauraki's Content Director, Mike McClung, said of the appointment,
"This is Hauraki's way of saying we want to stir up breakfast radio listening for men. We want to offer a unique, new and different show. Something that hasn’t been done before, an alternative to the cackling hyenas and sappy, light and breezy breakfast shows”.
"Martin is a great talent, he’s done some things that have got him into trouble in the past but he has real fans and we think the Hauraki breakfast show will be the perfect showcase for his unique style”.
A launch date is yet to be confirmed.
