Cash is back!
The old fashioned blunt tactical instrument of a major cash giveaway is back on Nova Sydney and Melbourne.
Generally, with a promotion you might expect that the majority of your listeners have, or perceive they have, a chance of winning.
However Nova 969 and Nova 100 have taken a different approach with their new $200,000 postcode payday.
From this coming Monday, both stations will launch the new promotion, which you can only enter if you live in a specific postcode in Melbourne or Sydney.
Here is how it works:
Hughsey & Kate, and Fitzy & Wippa, will call out a postcode in their respective markets at 7.30am.
The first listener through will need to answer 3 questions to win $10,000. If they fail, a second caller is given the chance. Should they be unsuccessful, the money jackpots.
If the cash pool reaches $50,000, then the Breakfast shows remain on-air until the $200,000 is given away.
Nova will be supporting the $200,000 postcode payday tactic through an outdoor marketing campaign.
There have been a number of cash giveaways on major metropolitan stations in 2012.
Mix 106.5 in Sydney have had two $100,000 mystery voice promotions, both 2Day FM and Fox FM have each given away a million dollars in the last twelve months, and Nova have had a number of cash based tactics recently in Sydney and Melbourne.
It does seem that cash is king again.
