The ARIA awards are happening at the beginning of December and today they have announced the nominees and pre-event winners.

Leading the way is Flume with 8 nominations, Tame Impala has 7 and Birds of Tokyo have landed 6 nominations.

triple j's Tom & Alex have been nominated for Best Comedy Release for their album 'The Bits We're Least Ashamed Of'

The 2013 awards will be on Sunday December 1 at The Star Event Centre, Sydney and will be broadcast on Go!
