ABC International gets new boss

Lynley Marshall, currently responsible for the commercial arm of the ABC, has been appointed the CEO of ABC International. Marshall will now be responsible for Radio Australia, and the Australia Network which broadcasts into 20 countries.

ABC Managing Director Mark Scott said; 

“International broadcasting is a central part of the ABC charter and with Lynley in this role, we will be well placed to take advantage of new media platforms, expanding Australia’s reach in radio, television, online and mobile” 

“Lynley has the knowledge and experience to identify other opportunities to take existing ABC content into international markets.”

Marshall commented; “I'm honoured to be joining the ABC International team at this exciting time as we look to extend the reach and scope of ABC content into international markets".

Marshall has already flagged consideration of a more integrated international media approach, indicating she will be looking at merging some of the Radio Australia and Australia Network operations.
