Who were the winners at this year’s ACRAs ?

Staff Writer

So now that the dust has settled, the speeches made, the hangovers have recovered and the back-slapping has finished for another year, Radio Today looks at the winners for the 2017 ACRA Awards.

Categories awarded on the night: 33

Gender breakdown of winners:

Most number of awards won on the night: 4 (by both Kyle and Jackie O and Ray Hadley)

Awards picked up by FM radio vs AM:

** Some awards picked up by both FM and AM.

Looking at the results by network. Nova Entertainment took out top honours in metro and SCA regional picked up the most awards in regional markets. Here’s how the Networks fared:

* Canberra counted as metro due to SCA/ARN joint venture.

So 2017 was a tight race between the Metro Networks NE, ARN, SCA and MRN.

Capital Radio emerged the winner from the independent regional operators.

Men far outweighed women this year; lets hope there are more entries and winners from women in radio at next years ACRA’s

Congratulations to all entrants and winners and to CRA and the organisers of this year’s event.

The male to female ratio is a bit of a disgrace really. And the head of CRA is a women.
This is something that needs to be addresses.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to hear how many women are actually on the judging panels?! I would suggest, not many. *sigh
