What will 2014 look like ? v2.0

Now that we're in November, and with more major metro radio changes occuring across the country, let's take another look at what 2014 could look like on FM.

Back in early October Hughesy & Kate, Matt & Jo, Merrick & The Highway Patrol and Lisa/Paul from 92.9 were all leaving (here). Two new shows have since been announced for Nova 100 and 92.9.

Now we have Kyle & Jackie O leaving SCA.

Let's run through some of the possibilities of what 2014 could look like in these key shifts and then you can have your say.

2DAY FM BREAKFAST

With the big announcement on Friday that Kyle & Jackie O are leaving SCA, what will 2Day FM breakfast look like in 2014 ?

Craig Bruce told us, "We have talent that we've developed over the past 12-18 months both in national shows and with talent we've developed on weekends." So it's possible the new 2Day FM breakfast show will come from within.

Lead contenders are most likely Fifi & Jules, with Craig revealing there will "likely (be) a change on national drive." But there's also Dave Thornton & Sophie Monk and Dan & Maz being developed in the background.

Of course, the bigger question is – what will happen to Kyle & Jackie O ? Nova say they have no intention of grabbing them, ARN has been mentioned as a possible new home for the duo. Will they even remain in radio ?

FOX FM BREAKFAST

Will it be Fifi & Jules on the Melbourne station or is this where Thorton/Monk or Dan/Maz will get their shot ?

Is there another show that could get the gig ?

Some have suggested there could be a Syd/Melb network breakfast show. Could that be Hamish & Andy ?

TODAY DRIVE

If Fifi & Jules do move into a breakfast slot, who are the front runners to takeover on national drive ?

Is this where a brand new show could emerge from the breakfast moves ? Who could that be ?

NOVA DRIVE

With Meshel Laurie & Tommy Little the new Nova 100 breakfast show (here), what will now happen to Nova national drive ? Will Tim & Marty (right) remain as a duo ? or will they be joined by a female co-host ? We heard the strong rumour it will be Kate Ritchie (here), but could someone else be in front of her in the line ?

Will something else happen with this Nova shift ?

TRIPLE M DRIVE

When Merrick & The Highway Patrol were announced as leaving, the Head of Triple M, Fitzy, said they want to create "a real alternative to the drive time line-ups across the country ….. something new and different in drive next year." Will they be moving away from a personality driven drive show and focus more on the music ? or could something else be happening ?

WHAT ABOUT….

Let's not forget those that have announced their departure. Will Kyle, Jackie O, Hughesy, Kate, Matt, Jo, Lisa, Paul, Merrick, Jules, or Rachel re-appear elsewhere ?
