Triple M’s BT nominated for Iron Imager comp

Another Australian image producer will go toe-to-toe with the world’s best at this year’s Iron Imager contest in California.

This year’s challenger is Triple M’s head of production Brendan ‘BT’ Tacey. Tacey will face off with current champion Sam Wickens from Capital FM in London. He last year slugged it out with NOVA Entertainment’s Brad Leask.

They’ll go head-to-head in a live competition at WWRS 2019 later this month, demonstrating their skills by producing an original imaging piece for a format unannounced until the day of the competition.

BT’s entry was inspired by an audio skit he produced for Radio Chaser.

“I had the idea to tie the sketch into the Triple M Product and create what became my entry for the competition,” said BT.

“After coming runner up for the last 2 years, it’s awesome to have been selected as this year’s contender for the title of Iron Imager.”

Th contestants will use elements from one of Benztown’s 23 production libraries, voiceover talent roster and will use a script produced by the Benztown team.

Now in its 8th year, the Iron Imager is the only competition of its kind.

“We are well aware of the extraordinary work that is produced by BT and our production team here at Triple M on a daily basis, but being nominated as one of two finalists in a world-wide competition further highlights that we have the best in the world creating content for us!” said Triple M head of content Mike Fitzpatrick.

“Our very own Mike ‘Sideshow’ Anderson took out this award in 2016, so to have two finalists in three years is outstanding!
