Triple M Melbourne replacing Dange with Digby

Staff Writer

There’s more change for Triple M Melbourne, as it positions itself for a big ratings year ahead.

With Dave ‘Dangerous’ Williams moving to Drive to anchor the new national Kennedy Molloy show, it left a vacancy in Mornings.

That spot has been filled by former SeaFM Gold Coast Breakfast anchor Digby Gillings, who joined Southern Cross Austereo from Nova 106.9 Brisbane in 2016.

Gillings has made the move south to Melbourne and can already be heard on Triple M Melbourne.

It’s an interesting time for SCA, where there has been a fair bit of change over the past few months, most notably on the Hit Network.

The Em Rusciano Breakfast show on 2Day FM Sydney has been expanded to include Grant Denyer, while Hughesy and Kate are preparing to take over from Hamish and Andy on Drive.

On the Triple M side in Sydney, Mark ‘MG’ Geyer left The Grill Team but will remain with the station to head up his own show.

Also in Sydney, comedy team The Chaser kick off their daily one hour show on January 22. “I was hoping for a shorter shift than 3 – 4pm,” admitted Dom Knight said on their new deal, back in October.

In Melbourne, Triple M’s Hot Breakfast has seen some change as well with the departure of executive producer Jay Mueller, while Will Anderson has replaced Mick Molloy.
