Triple M Hobart gets its own traffic chopper

Former Assistant Editor

After some terrible traffic congestion in the city earlier in the week, Triple M Hobart Brekky team Dave and Al have taken matters into their own hands.

As part of a plan to help their listeners stay up to date with the latest in Hobart traffic, Dave and Al enlisted the help of scenic flight company Par Avion to take to the skies in the Triple M Hobart traffic chopper.

“We hear traffic grumbles from our listeners every day!” said Al.

“One breakdown or a two-car crash and the whole city goes into gridlock! When this happens, people turn to us so we want to be able to tell people first hand where to avoid!”

The traffic chopper flew over suburbs including Greater Hobart, Glenorchy, Sandy Bay, Bridgewater and Cambridge, and even got an exclusive report on a 2-car crash on the notoriously troublesome, Midway Point Causeway.

“We’re not the most amazing traffic reporters… but our pilot, Greg Ross says he’s never had passengers who talk so much, so we’ll take that!” said Dave.

They also gave away a helicopter experience with Par Avion to some lucky listeners.

We are up in the Triple M traffic chopper with Par Avion!!! What incredible views!
