Tom Gleeson gets burned on “Harder Chat” with KIIS’s Hughesy & Kate

Staff Writer

Stand-up comedian  Tom Gleeson had a taste of his own medicine on the national KIIS network’s Hughesy & Kate Drive show.

After asking the hard questions to numerous celebrities, including Hughesy, as the host of popular ABC segment Hard Chat, the tables were turned as Gleeson was on the receiving end of Hughesy & Kate’s comedic spin-off – Harder Chat.

Gleeson received the payback he was waiting for, with questions about his infamous Christmas parties, short-lived radio career and current living circumstances.

“You live in the country,” Kate began. “Do you think one day you will be successful enough to live in the city?”

Gleeson hastily replied: “No, because I’m not going to make any compromises and work for commercial radio. I’m not an artistic sellout!”

The banter continued as Kate opened up old wounds about Gleeson’s “failed” radio show that was broadcast from the very same studio that Hughesy & Kate currently use.

Clearly bemused, Gleeson explained at the end of the segment that he is able to keep a straight face during his Hard Chat interviews because he grew up in a boarding school and was made fun of at the tender age of 11.
