Tim Bergh lands content director role

The ACE Radio Network’s Tim Bergh is on the move and will be taking up a content director gig with Grant Broadcasters.

He’s packing up and leaving Swan Hill, where he was creative writer and announcer, and is heading to Bega to oversee programming operations at 2EC and Power FM.

“I was actually in the middle of doing my on-air shift when I got the call,” he tells Radio Today.

“It was a massive surprise to be offered the opportunity, but I cannot wait to get started in Bega.

“The role will be to oversee both stations and the sound. I’ll also be keeping up with my on-air duties every day. I think I can bring plenty of industry knowledge to the role.”

Tim got his start at an early age in community radio in New Zealand. He was just 11 or 12 when he landed his first job and became one of the youngest winners of a New Zealand Radio Award for his community show.

He believes that experience from an early age will help him in his new role in Bega.

“I’ve always said that to be a good content director, you need to have worked in all those roles you will oversee.  For those just starting out in the industry, hard work pays off!

“I’ve moved around quite a bit over the past decade for radio. But, I’ve seen some amazing parts of this amazing country. Not to mention the fabulous people and companies I’ve worked for.”

Tim commences is new role with 2EC and Power FM on September 17th.
