Survey Results: Hot 100 reigns supreme in Darwin

Staff Writer

Darwin’s hit music station Hot 100 is the clear winner in the latest survey results out of the Northern Territory capital city.

Capturing 34.4% of the overall listenership 10+ and boasting over 60 thousand Top End listeners, Hot 100’s numbers are fuelled by unmatched results among younger demographics. The station dropped a seemingly insignificant -8.5% in the 10-17 bracket, taking the station’s tally down to 65.7%, and a further -9.2% in the 18-24 demographic.

Expectedly, the tables expectedly turn among older demographics with MIX 104.9 and ABC Radio Darwin seizing the majority of listeners.

There’s no stopping Hot 100’s Ben & Sarah for Breakfast with the pair sitting on 35.2%, despite a drop of -4.3%. Mix’s Wake Up with Greg & Ali jump above ABC in the slot to take second place at 21.7% (+5.8%).

Mike Harvey, general manager Grant Broadcasters Darwin, was pleased with the performance of both stations, particularly highlighting Hot 100’s growth across various sessions.

“Breakfast with Greg & Ali, 360 with Katie Woolf, Afternoons & Drive with Taz and particularly Weekends with Nic and AFL have all recorded significant audience increases,” he said.

“The total number of locals in the Top End who tune into Hot 100 and Mix 104.9 is wonderful and we thank each and every listener for making us a part of their lives.”
