Survey #1 results are in for Ballarat
103.1 Power FM is the #1 radio station in Ballarat, Victoria’s largest inland city.
The survey reveals a landslide victory for Power in the 10-39 age bracket, with fellow Grant Broadcasters station – 3BA 102.3FM – picking up strong numbers among listeners 40+.
Power’s Jules & Kris is the #1 brekkie show in Ballarat pulling 27.8% of the overall audience. 3BA’s The Big Show with Paul “PT” Taylor landed 20.5%, while triple j’s Ben & Liam continue to dig their roots with the boys’ national show taking 8.6%.
Drive is dominated by Power‘s The Home Run with Ben. 30.8% was more than enough to beat out 3BA’s Alex Withers who claimed 19.5%.
General Manager of Power FM, John Fitzgibbon, said the results were indicative of the station’s core philosophy of focusing on localism and championing the community.
“It’s in our DNA, it’s who we are and the community has responded. These results confirm what we hear from our community every day.”
Another pathetic result for NewsRadio and Classic FM. When will the ABC put something on air in place of these two that people want to hear? Double J, ABC Country or a new BBC Radio 2 format would actually attract listeners rather than waste taxpayers’ money broadcasting to nobody.
These figures only add up to around 60%. Who’s the other 40% listening to?
Another strong result from ABC News Radio. Could someone suggest they bite the bullet and use the frequency for Double J instead? Can’t hurt if the impact is on 0.0% of listeners.
Did the survey cover Voice FM or other community radio??
If not how would the numbers change???
But good to see some local numbers.
