Survey #1 2017: Gosford, NSW

Staff Writer

Sea Hit 103.1’s Bree & Gawndy are the #1 breakfast team in Gosford, according to the latest survey conducted by Xtra Insights.

They lead Star 104.5’s Rabbit & Julie Goodwin who sit nearly 3 points behind at 15%. SCA’s 2GO comes in at third with Sarah & Paddy claiming 10.5% of the listenership, a drop of -2.7%.

Overall, Hit remains the #1 station in Gosford at 17.9%. However, Star rose by +3.3% to 17.3% to place some pressure on Hit, who slipped marginally in this survey.

Cumulatively, Star has the most listeners +10: “We take responsibility of delivering a product that our Central Coast community engage with very seriously and I thank them for their loyalty and I feel this acknowledgement is deserved accolades for the hard work of the entire team,” said Paul Moltzen, general manager Star 104.5.

The crown at drive stays with Hamish & Andy while Star’s Hayden Else edges closer up to 18.3%.

CRA boss Joan Warner said: “The surveys demonstrate that radio remains a mainstay for people in regional areas, and they are still tuning in for news, entertainment and to stay up to date with what’s happening in their local community.”

I would love to know how many people actually listen to these stations, when you can easily get Sydney radio almost everywhere.

Not surprised by this. The GO brekky show has been on the nose for years and until they change it the station will never improve

Congrats to Moltz and his team of “Stars” on today’s results. A great station filled with great people….well done.

Another great result for SEA. They sound fresh and energetic and the breakfast show keeps improving. 2GO keeps going in the opposite direction and sounds stale and lifeless with a breakfast show that should have been put out of its misery years ago. STAR is very consistent without needing to be flash.

2GO breakfast is appalling – 2 people talking rubbish over the top of each other!

The 10+ share for local commercial and ABC stations who pay to be included in the survey only comes to 60% so must be a lot of listening to the two excellent community stations, Coast FM, and the Country station, and overlapping Sydney stations.
