Survey #1 2017 results are in for Esperance, WA

Staff Writer

The first ever survey results for the Western Australian town of Esperance in the state’s south-east corner have been released.

The Hit Network, Triple M and ABC take the majority of the town’s listenership across all slots and demos, with SCA’s Hit Network coming out on top as the most listened to station with a 25.6% share.

In the all important Breakfast slot, it’s ABC Esperance’s Peter Bell leading the pack with a strong audience share of 24.5% ahead of Hit and Triple M at 23.4 and 20.9, respectively.

Hit’s duo Hamish & Andy make a statement in the Drive slot taking 30.2% of total listenership, the highest share by any station across all sessions.

Once again, Triple M’s Cliff Reeve has to settle for second place in the Drive slot, the same way he did in the Wheatbelt survey earlier this month.

triple j remains consistent as ever with audience shares hovering between 6% and 10% throughout the day, peaking at 9.4% in the afternoons.

The research was conducted by Xtra Insights, the industry’s official provider of regional radio surveys.
