Sthalekar, Harris & Heverin added to SEN XI commentary team

Former Assistant Editor

1116 SEN has announced the remaining members of its SEN XI commentary team for the 2018/19 cricket season.

Earlier this week the network revealed that veteran broadcasters Gerard Whately and Anthony Hudson would lead the team, alongside for Australian test cricketers Damien Fleming and Simon Katich.

The team now includes former Australian captain Lisa Sthalekar and fellow international Mel Jones, both of whom have since become accomplished broadcasters in their own right.

Former Indian opening batsman Akash Chopra has joined as an expert analyst, while recently retired pace bowlers Ryan Harris and Doug Bollinger will also add to the XI.

“Aakash is rightfully known around the world as the voice of Indian cricket – so to have him join the team in Australia, with his expert, well-balanced analysis is a great privilege for 1116 SEN,” said chief commercial officer and general manager Sam Bingley

Finally, versatile veteran caller Jack Heverin and former AFL player-turned-pundit Liam Pickering rounded out the side.

“In terms of sports broadcasters in Australia, Jack Heverin is one our brightest talents, adept at calling many sports, and he will continue the great work he did during Australia’s tour South Africa last March, this time on home soil this summer for 1116 SEN,” said Bingley.

“With the assembly of ex-players, led by Fleming, Katich, Harris and Bollinger, joined by three of the best all-round sports broadcasters in Whateley, Hudson and Heverin, the excitement we feel about the 1116 SEN coverage is extremely high.”

SEN parent Pacific Star Network recently secured exclusive commercial radio broadcasting rights from Cricket Australia.

The partnership will see Crocmedia provide the only radio coverage of all Big Bash League matches for the next six years, while SEN will also broadcast all tests this summer.
