Steve Fitton played the 2WS Top 10 from May 1980 on WSFM Lunch

101.7 WSFM Lunch announcer Steve Fitton received a surprise from a listener yesterday, who sent in an old 2WS chart from the ’80s.

The old chart was branded with WSFM’s old call sign 2WS, and contained songs by the likes of Queen, Isaac Hayes, Bette Middler, B52’s, Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson.

Sitting at #1 was ‘I Got You’ by Split Enz.

This all gave Steve an idea, so he played snippets of the tracks Top 10 on the chart, before playing the Top 3 songs in full.

He even played the old call sign, “1224 2WS” that was retired in 1993.
