Talent Watch: Will Lehmo be returning to GOLD104.3 in 2018?

Staff Writer

Multiple sources have this morning suggested to Radio Today that Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann is to depart the GOLD104.3 breakfast team, leaving Jo and anchor, Troy Ellis.

The Australian comedian hosts breakfast alongside Jo Stanley, with the pair working together since 2016 when Brigitte Duclos departed and Stanley was named the replacement.

In reaching out to the network regarding the news, an ARN spokesman said, “ARN will make announcements about Gold 104.3 in 2018 when we have news to share”.

The pair has held a steady audience over the past two surveys with Gold 104.3 hovering at 9.3 in Survey #6 and third in the competitive FM breakfast slot.

First Hughesy leaves ARN and know Lehmo. Who’s next ? Serious talent drain going on here.

@Gary – that’s ok, because I’m sure recreating the Matt and Jo Show will definitely work for them.. isn’t that the ARN mantra – just recreate/poach established shows from other networks/platforms? I mean it worked so well with Kyle and Jackie, it’s sure to work every time.

Two new cheap show on ARN’s Melbourne stations next year. The kiwi’s Jase and PJ on KIIS and Jo and Troy on Gold. Low cost = low ratings. Its the ARN of a decade ago.

COME ON CD.....

@CD you have no clue what so ever any information about money and contracts in this regard. If you did you wouldn’t be wasting time writing uneducated comments on Radio Today stories. Both shows would be on a decent coin, it’s Melbourne, not Dubbo.

ARN is a business they should be and are cutting costs. The game is all about increasing profits and return to shareholders. I applause ARN and it’s new CEO on these low cost initiatives.

ARN have gone for lower cost talent alternatives in Melbourne Brisbane and Perth now. They are the ALDI markets. But spending big up in Sydney with WS and KIIS. It’s like they’ve decided to give up here in Melbourne.

I saw in the Herald Sun yesterday (not that its 100% true news all the time) that neither Jo OR Lehmo had signed new contracts.
