Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts this week feat. The Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy, The Grill Team and Triple M Great Southern

Our top picks this week come from Triple M’s The Grill Team, The Hit Network’s Collective Noun and K Rock 95.5.

1. The Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy – ‘The Speak Out Challenge’ (Southern Cross Austereo)

If you haven’t heard of the viral challenge/game, it encourages players to speak things while wearing a mouthpiece. There hasn’t been a huge influx of these types of videos just yet, so for now they stand out.  Successful posts are generally goofy and unique.  It also features Carrie and Tommy and their involvement makes it not only personalised but more fun and meaningful to audiences.

What happens when you put dental gear in your mouth and try and talk?

2. Triple M’s The Grill Team – ‘Glad to see the boys are enjoying the hot weather’ (Southern Cross Austereo)

Semi-nude middle aged blokes….what could go wrong? It creates some buzz, triggering engagement and that’s what makes this successful. They know their brand and their demographic, recognising that their audience can take a joke so therefore it’s worth the risk. It was a creative way to trigger emotion via a social media post.

3. Triple M Great Southern – ‘Steelo and Allan try to do a nice thing’ (Southern Cross Austereo)

This is a great example of turning a sponsor competition into a fun piece of social media content. Instead of letting the video fall flat, the fellas get went with it and it produced the perfect piece of bite sized video. It’s very genuine, great length; increases brand awareness and its fun.

Steelo and Allan try to do a nice thing

Well done to Geoff from Narrogin Country Fresh Meats for winning the swag generously donated from Steelo's Guns & Outdoors for our time trial comp. – Allan
