Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts this week feat. triple j, KIIS FM and WSFM

Our top picks this week come from triple j’s Ben and Liam, KIIS FM’s Will and Woody and WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda.

1. triple j’s Ben and Liam – ‘Don’t be a Liam’

So relatable to many teenage boys who won’t let anyone access their computer, for no real reason at all!  The video is short and punchy, triggering an emotional chord by using a combination of humour and narrative, which holds viewers to the end of the video.

I particularly rate it because the message is simple and not jamming a network plug down the viewer’s throats. It demonstrates that you don’t need to plaster all your visual branding all over content in order to make an impact on your audience. Two thumbs up to the J’s, great way to start 2018!

2. KIIS Network’s Will and Woody – ‘Calling your girlfriend while your mate’s in the car’

Very cheeky fellas. Even with something as simple as the phone ringing, they’ve created anticipation and captured the audience which is extremely important. It’s relatable and memorable to their audience, so they are more likely to share and tag their friends. It’s also a good length, that’s easily digestible for viewers.

3. WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda – ‘Jonesy and Amanda return’

This bite-sized teaser is great. It’s a genuine representation of their on air-personas; it resides with their audience and shows the talent being playful. Great length and gets the message across.  I also like that it was shot simply without any fancy production.

J&A are back for 2018 on Monday the 22nd of January

Radio Lesson #22 Planning is a very important part of any successful radio show. Jonesy & Amanda return Monday January 22.
