Social Scorecard: Radio’s top social posts this week feat. Heidi, Xavier & Ryan, Kyle & Jackie O and Nova 106.9 Brisbane
This week’s Social Scorecard top picks come from Heidi, Xavier and Ryan, Kyle and Jackie O and Ash, Kip & Luttsy.
1. Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Xavier and Ryan – ‘Who in Perth wants SURPRISE WINE?!’ (SCA)
Nailed it. A bite-sized morsel of social media goodness. The team demonstrate they know their market and targeted content specifically towards their audience.
This has triggered high engagement and a truckload of comments. The other clever thing they did here was including actual recipients – which gives it some authenticity, generating trust and humanising their brand. Now, who do I have to see to get free wine guys?
Who in Perth wants SURPRISE WINE?! (Yes, Ryan Jon is that desperate)

2. KIIS 106.5’s Kyle and Jackie O – ‘Jackie got flowers for Valentine’s Day from The Grill Team and she was very suspicious’ (ARN)
Valentine’s Day, a well-known radio identity and a rival breakfast show. Blend them together and you’ve got yourself a winner. Capitalising on seasonal content like VDay is particularly important. Why? Because users are not only talking about it but also looking out for that type of content online.
I think it’s time to point out that the K&J team are one of the few I’ve seen that feature their own talent in their socials. I’m not talking about uploading the feed from your talk breaks guys – they feature in their own social media content. Why is that important? You’re trying to engage and communicate with your audience, and you do that with starring in your own content.

3. Nova 106.9’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy – ‘Stairs of love’ (Nova Entertainment)
A hilarious stunt, the commentary made it, but a little on the long side. It activates emotion, triggering engagement organically for the post.
The great thing about emotions is that people want to share them – and as you can see encourages the audience to tag and comment on the post. Content that makes people happy will always get a faster response than anything else. Well done team!
Getting 8 men to climb stairs covered in lube for a chance at love? No problem! Happy Valentine's Day, Brisbane!
