Ron Camplin spins a yarn with Ray Hadley celebrating 70 years in radio

Former Assistant Editor

Legendary Australian broadcaster Ron Camplin celebrates his 70th year in radio in 2018 and joined The Ray Hadley Morning show to reflect on an unbelievable career.

“70 years doesn’t seem to be that long once you’re there,” he told Ray, chatting about his beginnings as a lunch runner at 2CH in 1948 as a 15-year-old.

Since then Ron has created a legacy that’s seen him awarded an OAM for services to the Commercial Broadcasting industry and the local community in 1995 and a member of the Commercial Radio Australia Hall of Fame in 2002.

“He’s forgotten more than most know about the industry,” mused Hadley on Ron’s amazing achievements.
