Rod Cuddihy winding up on-air after 15 years
After being appointed content director of Canberra’s Hit104.7 and MIX106.3 a couple of months ago, prominent breakfast personality Rod Cuddihy will finish up his on-air duties at the end of June.
“It’s been a unique first major task…to find a replacement for myself,” Cuddihy said off the back of 15 years in breakfast radio.
“After an extensive process of demoing some of the country’s most talented personality anchors we couldn’t be more excited about the result.”
As MIX106.3’s breakfast co-host alongside Kristen Henry, Cuddihy helped grow the station’s audience to #1 in the market for the first time in 10 years.
He was assistant content director for both Hit and MIX in Canberra before gaining the CD role following Jason Matthews’ departure earlier in the year.
“What a genuinely amazing journey brekky radio has taken me on over the last 15 years,” he added. “I’ve sincerely appreciated every single listener choosing to share their morning with me in every single spot I’ve been lucky enough to broadcast.”
A replacement for Cuddihy will be announced this week.
Top jock and top bloke.
If he was up for it… Nigel Johnson would be a good fit to replace Rod on the Mix 106.3 FM breakfast show.
One of the hardest working people in the industry. Great work, Mr Pinball!
The best in the business. Great broadcaster, mentor and mate. Hit em with the Hein!
Props to Rod! Always a pleasure to be involved with someone so dedicated to radio while wearing a smile. Here’s to plenty of air horn sound effects in your new office!
Legend! I was blown away at Rod & Flack when I did work placemat in Townsville 10+ years ago. He’ll kill it in the CD role and he knows what works so the new person will kill it too!
