Missy Elliott, Craig David, Jennifer Lopez for RnB Fridays album

Staff Writer

SCA’s the Hit Network and Universal Music Australia have today released the third volume of the hugely successful RnB Fridays compilation series.

It features two albums of handpicked hip hop and R&B tracks played on RnB Fridays across the Hit Network, with Missy Elliott, Craig David, Jennifer Lopez, TLC, 50 Cent and The Black Eyed Peas all making an appearance.

The release follows on from the success of previous editions. The first volume in the RnB Fridays compilation series has been certified as double platinum with the second volume not far behind, with a response well in excess of platinum sales.

“RnB Fridays has been like nothing we’ve ever seen,” Darren Aboud, joint MD at Universal Music Australia. “The unprecedented success has been a testament to the great music and the sensational artists as well as the dedication of the Hit Network.”

After two years on the airwaves, SCA says that Fridays have quickly become the most listened-to day of the week on-air across the Hit Network’s 43 stations.

Head of the Hit Network, Gemma Fordham added, “We had great expectations for the success of RnB Fridays when it first launched, but to think that we are now releasing a third album is just so exciting for us and great testament to this amazing product that we have created with Universal.”
