Real Heidi, Real People, Real Stories: Heidi Anderson has a new podcast

Staff Writer

I recently interviewed an inspirational, amazing, woman, and I had to share her story with you all. Cherie Aimee died six years ago after battling cancer. Her heart failed her and she died in her husband’s arms.

Over 100 doctors worked on Cherie to save her life and they were about to call her time of death, but one man wouldn’t give up.

Thankfully, he didn’t, because she survived and is here to tell her incredible story of going to heaven during that 90 minutes.

I know it sounds bloody crazy and she laughs about it too. In fact, Cherie didn’t tell a soul about her NDE (near death experience) as she was so worried people would judge her.

It is only over the last couple of years that she has decided to speak about her journey of crossing over to heaven to people who are genuinely interested.

For the last five years, Cherie has been on life support with a bionic heart. She is a miracle and has one hell of a story to tell! I was absolutely blown away when I first heard of Cherie and her story, and I couldn’t wait to speak with her.

I have spoken about it in past columns – I am petrified of dying. Some of my anxiety comes from the uncertainty of what happens when we die.

I have been brought up in a family that doesn’t really practice a faith, but I was sent to a Catholic high school. Because of this, I have always been a little confused as to what my personal beliefs are.

I have no idea what happens when you die and I obviously won’t until it happens, and that uncertainty plagues me with anxiety. My fear is that there will be nothing … and that scares the crap out of me!

So the chance to speak with someone who has looked death in the eyes and come back with hope – I had to find out more.

Some of you will bloody love what Cherie has to say, and some of you will think it’s all ‘woo woo,’ and that’s OK.

This is a touchy subject but, my God, aren’t you curious to know what heaven is like? And if God is standing there at the pearly gates waiting to approve your entry?

All those questions are answered in my chat with her.

I recorded my conversation with Cherie for my podcast which launched today: “Real Heidi, Real People, Real Stories.”

I decided to start this podcast after meeting so many interesting people through my job in radio. I am lucky enough to meet some amazing folk who have truly awesome stories.

The problem is, working in commercial radio, we don’t get endless amount of time to speak to these people as we have to play music. So, that is how this podcast came about, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to launch it with!

Cherie opens up and gets real, describing how her NDE made her look at her life, her world, in a whole new light.

“It’s a miracle I’m still alive,” she said. “I have experienced what medical researchers describe as a near-death experience. Since that day my life has never been the same.

“I had to say goodbye to the old me. It took years to figure out how to re-adjust myself back into life after having so many years ripped away from me.

“I no longer view the world the same. I see things different from all those around me.

“Heaven changes you. You realise why you’re here. You no longer have the same concerns as others. And most of all, you no longer fear death, which finally frees you to truly live.”

If you want to hear more about Cherie and her NDE, listen to the podcast. I have so many other inspirational stories to share with you in the future too, so I’d love you to subscribe.

The podcast will drop fortnightly and is available on iTunes or www.realheidi.com/podcast. Also, if you have a story you’d like to share, please email me [email protected]
