Radio Chaser parody Fairfax & Nine merger, announcing Triple M & smoothfm union
The ground-breaking merger between the Nine Network and Fairfax today has been on the lips of the entire media industry, but not to be outdone, Radio Chaser have tapped into the hype to announce their own merger.
This afternoon the boys announced the official merger of Triple M and smoothfm, to create a brand new station; Triple Smooth.
“The new entity, which is to be called Triple Smooth, promises to be three times smoother than Smooth FM, for a wider mix of smooth,” announced Chaser correspondent Charles Firth from the steps of Triple M.
“On our new breakfast show, we’ll be playing long, non-stop blocks of yacht rock. And in drive time, listeners can grab a glass of wine as they unwind to the smooth sounds of AC/DC and Nirvana.
“There will be a few changes to the lineup. Instead of the Rush Hour, MG will now be hosting the Bikram Yoga Hour.
“Kennedy Molloy will now be Kennedy Richard Wilkins. And the Grill Team will become the Gently Simmering Team.
“And finally, Ugly Phil has been replaced by Ruggedly Handsome Phillip.”

I’m struggling to find this funny.
Give it a month or two and one of these two stations will be subject to a merger.

Poor taste yet again from The Chaser. Everyone knows Triple M will merge with 2UE. That would give Triple M some chance of rating a 4-5 share. And UE is a real sport station unlike Triple M and all that rock and alleged comedy that just gets in the way of sport.
Everyone knows that Damo? Yet again more uneducated comments on a radio today article from people who don’t know what they’re talking about. If Triple M merge with 2UE or if SCA merge with anyone else in the next 2 years I will eat my Dr Dan Tripple M hat!
Is that meant to pass for humour these days?

Just what we needed, I hope it goes national. I’ve got my yoga tights and mat, the incense will be burning and I got a cheap budda statue from Newtown. Bring it on Triple Smooth
