Radar Radio goes to the footy

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo's Radar Radar have joined with the AFL to provide 'Live at the Footy' across 13 nights at the MCG and Etihad Stadium through 2012.

The program, which has run for a fortnight, will have live bands playing a pre-game, and a half-time set. Acts who have played so far are Spiderbait, and Tim Rogers.

General Manager of SCA Melbourne Ben Amarfio told The Music Network that AFL and live music was a natural fit:

"Our whole pitch is about producing an entertaining call that appeals primarily to our core audience – people under 55"

"When we're not calling the footy we are passionate about being the home of the best rock music…..(to) combine our two passions is a dream come true"
