PSN rebrands KOOOL and Aussie Digital to SEN2 and SEN3 sport
Two of Pacific Star Network‘s DAB+ digital radio stations, KOOOL Digital and Aussie Digital, are no more.
PSN has confirmed to Radio Today that the two stations have been rebranded to SEN2 and SEN3 dedicated sport channels.
KOOOL digital previously played music from the 70s and 80s, while Aussie played “All Australian, all the time”.
It’s the latest news to come out of PSN following yesterday’s announcement that the network will launch 1629 SEN in South Australia later this year.
The news to ditch KOOOL and Aussie has not gone down well with listeners, with a petition to change the stations back garnering over 1,000 signatures in the last day or so.
The petition calls out PSN for taking the number of sport stations in Melbourne to double digits.
“They do not listen to the general public and only take advice from their board and shareholders.
“I am outraged and hopefully these two petitions can make a difference.”
This latest petition follows a public outcry at PSN’s decision to 3MP 1377 AM Classic Rock Radio to SEN+ back in August, and subsequent petition to change the station back.
Since CEO Craig Hutchinson took over 1116 SEN, the station has lost half it’s listeners & is rating under 2.9% share.
Having four sports station 1116 SEN, SEN+, SEN2 & SEN3 simulcasting the same audio from it’s main channel 1116 AM should be in breach of broadcasting.
KOOOL & AUSSIE digital were great stations, it gave listeners a choice, not just 24/7 sports.
What am I going to listen to now? Koool was all I ever tuned in to. Very unhappy about its demise.

The radio station was amazing, always kept me connect to my pass.
We also liked it, because the commercials were limited. No rubbish like others.
I can not believe KOOOL has gone
Please bring back Koool radio, it was the best station and played all great songs. Not sure what to listen to now.

Seriously what a joke giving KOOOL & Aussie the boot..!? They were the Only stations mixing it up a bit with the oldskool tracks that u never hear anymore..!
Ohh well at least they didn’t get rid of the other ‘awesome” stations playing the same 25 tracks over and over and over to keep us going!

I cant believe that KOOOL has gone, everytime we had freind’s from interstate they always commented about how good that station was. And another sports station really? There are enough of these already.
