Power FM Bega Bay’s AB & Brad implore women to ‘put out your sandwiches’

Inspired by the story of intrepid 16-year-old trekker Jade Hameister, Power FM Bega Bay’s Breakfast duo AB and Brad have called on working women everywhere to “put out your sandwiches.”

Yesterday AB recounted Hameister’s story, as she became the youngest person to reach both the North and South poles, and cross Greenland.

The young explorer posted a photo on Facebook at the Ceremonial South Pole of herself holding a sandwich, directed at men who commented “make me a sandwich” on her TEDX Talk.

I skied back to the Pole again… to take this photo,” she said. “I made you a sandwich (ham & cheese), now ski 37 days and 600km to the South Pole and you can eat it.”

AB was so inspired by Hameister’s story, that she posted her own photo and put the call out for working women to post their own sandwich photos.

“I encourage every woman, and men as well, on the South Coast. If you’ve ever had anyone whose ever told you to get back in the kitchen, stuff em,” said AB

“What is this, like ‘put your sandwiches out?” queried Brad.

“Pretty much,” responded AB.

Power FM has already had listeners responding on their Facebook page with pictures of their own.
