Paul Dix passes away

Staff Writer

2QN Deniliquin's long-serving Breakfast Announcer, Paul Dix, passed away this morning.

Paul, who had been the Breakfast Announcer on 2QN since March 1951, had announced his retirement due to illness in the past weeks.

General Manager of Rich Rivers Broadcasters, Frank Davidson, has posted this open message on 2QN's Facebook page;

  I wish to advise that our 2QN breakfast & 3NE afternoon announcer Paul Dix passed away earlier this morning after a short illness.

To say Dixy will be missed is an understatement as he was and always be an integral part of our team.

Paul’s many friends and listeners in our coverage area will miss waking up with Dixy each morning and at this sad time our thoughts and condolences are with his wife Margaret and the family.

Further details as they come to hand will be advised and once again our thoughts at this sad time are with the family.

2QN listeners have reacted with great love and sadness for Paul, as you would imagine after 51 years on Breakfast. A few comments from the stations Facebook page are shown below;
