NZME launches daily news podcast

Former Assistant Editor

Leading New Zealand media and entertainment company NZME has launched a daily news podcast called The Front Page.

The daily pod will deliver a 15-minute burst of news for commuters on their way home each day, from Monday to Friday.

It will be presented by Francis Cook and Juliette Sivertsen.

Listeners will know Cook, who developed the show, from her Cooking The Books show on managing personal finances.

Newstalk ZB news reader Sivertsen will be no stranger to listeners either.

NZME planning director Andrew Laxon says the podcast is an exciting development for the future of the company.

“We’ve already shown listeners we can deliver high quality issues-based series, such as our Chasing Ghosts series on the disappearance of Amber-Lee Cruickshank, and the murders of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope in the Sounds,” he said.

“Earlier this year we tackled the impact of the #MeToo movement on New Zealand through the highly regarded Speaking Secrets, and now are giving our audience the option to catch up on the daily news in the same format.

“I’m delighted that we’ll now be able to give listeners an up-to-date, authoritative podcast on the news of the day.”

The Front Bar is downloadable for free on iHeartRadio and iTunes from 5pm daily.

It can also be accessed here.
