NZ radio station ZM’s floating music festival will return in 2018

Former Assistant Editor

New Zealand radio station ZM debuted the first edition of floating music festival Floatchella earlier this year.

ZM has now announced that Floatchella will return in 2018 over the Waitangi long weekend, with a brand new venue.

With the previous event reaching capacity by midday at Lake Tekapo, organisers have found a new venue at Lake Tikitapu, Rotarua’s Blue Lake.

The festival will be headlined by ARIA winner Amy Shark, who’ll be joined by New Zealand artists Kings, Mitch James, Drax Project and special guests Jupiter Project.

ZM content director Ross Flahive and his team is incredibly keen for the second edition of the festival after its successful debut last year.

“It’s going to be an awesome summer event, with some great acts,” said Flahive in a statement.

“Flochella was an amazing success last year with over 4,000 people, and Kiwis from all over the country came for an awesome party.”
