Nova jock collapses on-air

Staff Writer

Nova Adelaide Breakfast Announcer Shane Lowe (left) has collapsed live on-air during the breakfast program.

Speaking to Adelaide's Sunday Mail, Lowe has revealed that doctors had told him that a habit of consuming three cans of Mother energy drink daily was the diagnosis for his dramatic collapse.

Just prior to to collapsing, Lowe had finished two cans of Mother, without having had any Breakfast.

Lowe described the moment prior to fainting;

"First thing I noticed was I started to get hot and I could feel a bit of sweat beading at the top of my forehead, the second stage was a high pitch ringing in my ear and then everything went into slow motion.

I remember everyone started to warp and then I looked over at (co-host) Dan Debuf and I saw two of him and my hands went tingly and I needed to lay down"

He further revealed in the interview that his family had a history of diabetes, and that his eating habits overall were poor – with his diet consisting largely of pizza, schnitzels, cheesecake and cheese.

Lowe told the Sunday Mail that "It's definitely time to change my ways".
